Danish Fighter Micki Nielsen To Defend Title In Aarhus

Another Nordic Fight Night looms courtesy of Nisse Sauerland and there’s another Nielsen ready to step into the ring for a title fight to keep fans entertained as the small nation on the Baltic continues to make a name for itself producing great boxing and indeed superb boxers like Danish fighter Micki Nielsen who has been one of the shining lights of this resurgence of the sport in Northern latitudes.
Nordic Fight Night In February
• Micki Nielsen to headline
• Dennis Ceylan to fight
• Nisse Sauerland to push Danish boxing
Fight fans will recall only too well that the last time a Nielsen stepped into the ring during Nisse Sauerland’s last “Bad Blood” Nordic Fight Night it was Patrick Nielsen against Rudy Markussen in one of the most highly anticipated fight that anyone who likes to bet on sports in Denmark can remember. Brondby Hallen in Copenhagen was packed that night to see the domestic bout so long in coming there was talk it might never happen at all, or simply occur naturally at a press conference sans gloves.
In the end Rudy Markussen was found wanting as Nielsen thumped his way to a technical knock-out in the third, the hugely furious pace of the first two rounds perhaps telling on the older of the two, who couldn’t find his feet let alone stand on them as the ref counted him out. It was the climax to feud that had gone on a long time and Danish fighter Micki Nielsen’s brother came out as triumphant as he always claimed he would, the question is will Micki Nielsen do as well?
Certainly he’s in fine form, and that 20-0 record, with 14 of those wins knock-outs speaks volumes but it’s his attitude that he may have to rely on as he defends his WBC International title on February 6th. This has been bouyed by his winning the belt in a unanimous points victory over Julio Cesar dos Santos of Brazil, and also by being named the Boxer of the Year by his domestic Professional Boxing Federation, the DPBF, and it’ll be that attitude that will probably see Danish fighter Nielsen win.
Danish Fighter Micki Nielsen In International Title Bout
“I’ve had a perfect 2015.” The young man from Albertslund says modestly, albeit it arguably correct. “I was matched hard in every fight but now it’s time to build on this. I’m ready for bigger and better fights.” Something Nisse Sauerland seems only too happy to facilitate giving the Danish fighter Nielsen every opportunity. A prospect Micki welcomes. “I’m looking forward,” he says confidently, “to getting back in the ring and defending my belt.” Well he won’t have long to wait now.
The new year will barely have begun when he starts focusing hard on this next bout and retaining his title, the importance of which he himself underlined, saying; “Title fights are what you live for as a boxer.” Something that will doubtless backed up by the result, and when ComeOn! Sportsbook ante up the odds in the new year you could do far worse than to take advantage of Danish gambling laws and back Danish fighter Micki Nielsen to total just about anyone he goes up against.
“I’m improving all the time.” Micki Nielsen confides, “I will always be hard-hitting, but technically I’m also developing.” It is this more tactical approach that has settled Danish fighter Micki Nielsen down early on in his career and kept his focus razor sharp but he seems to feel that there are untapped reserves and that it’s only a matter of time before they come to the fore “There is much more to me than what people have already seen, and I will prove this in Aarhus.” He said.
Dennis Ceylan Back In Aarhus Once Again
Naturally Promoter Nisse Sauerland is not one to miss a trick and so whilst Micki defending his belt is going to be a huge fight there’s another arrow in the quiver as 26 year old local former Olympian Dennis Ceylan, himself like Danish fighter Micki Nielsen, unbeaten in his professional career also takes to the ring in Aarhus to make this a local two-hander, but the featherweight is relatively realistic about what amounts to a minor come back by the boxer who is from precisely where the next Nordic Fight Night will be held.
“It’s been over two and half years since I last boxed in Aarhus,” Admits Ceylan, “so it will be great to fight in front of my own fans as one of the headliners. I promise the fans that, as usual, I will entertain with good technical boxing, but more importantly, it’s time for me to take a step up and show that I’m ready to challenge the best in my division. I know a title fight is near, and I believe it’s time for me to be involved in big fights.” Which sounds pretty determined.
“With Micki and Dennis we have two of the country’s most exciting talents.” Enthused Nisse Sauerland, “2016 is going to be a big year for Danish boxing and we look forward to starting the new year with a bang in another explosive show on February 6th.” However the question remains, after the fight to end all fights last time round will Danish fighter Micki Nielsen’s attract as much attention and can Nisse Sauerland build Danish boxing up more than mere fodder for the gambling news pages.
