Concussion Keeps McLaren’s Alonso Away From Formula 1 Australian Race

Fernando Alonso to sit out the season-opening Formula 1 Grand Prix in Australia but should be ready for Malaysia.

McLaren disclosed in recent gambling news that Fernando Alonso won’t make it to the season-opening Grand Prix in Australia as he suffered a concussion during his test crash in Barcelona on February 22. Alonso, while he hasn’t suffered any neurological and cardiac damages has been not to compete in the March 15 race in Australia on February 22.

McLaren issued a statement saying that “McLaren-Honda driver Fernando Alonso’s doctors have recommended to him that, following the concussion he sustained in a testing accident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on February 22nd, he should not compete in the imminent Australian Grand Prix meeting”. The Formula 1 race, which has the approval of Australian gambling laws, debuts at the weekend of March 13, 2015 in Melbourne.

Kevin Magnussen to replace Alonso at March 15 race in Australia

McLaren’s test and reserve driver, Kevin Magnussen, who took part in 19 races for the Woking squad last season, will replace Alonso and will share the cockpit with Jenson Button.
