Three thrill seekers working for the Aspers Casino in Northampton are getting ready to take on the Three Peaks Challenge.

The challenge is scheduled to take place over the August bank holiday weekend. According to recent gambling news, participants will climb Scafell Pike in England, Snowdon in Wales and the highest mountain in Britain, Scotland’s Ben Nevis. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the Aspinall Foundation, an animal conservation charity.

The three Aspers employees – Luke Goy, customer service gaming supervisor, poker dealer Hina Modha and cashier Darren Wile – and an outside member have managed to raise GBP 1,230 so far and they aim to reach GBP 5,000 next year, when they’re preparing to tackle Mount Everest.

Charitable challenge

The Aspinall Foundation, an internationally renowned animal conservation organization, is dedicated to protecting endangered or rare species of animals. It was founded by the late conservationist Jon Aspinall, who also set up Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks in Kent.

His son Damian runs Aspers Casinos, home to some of the most popular British poker rooms, in a joint venture with an Australian media and gaming company.

“We’re hoping the Three Peaks Challenge will go some way in helping us prepare to reach Everest Base Camp next year. Please show your support by texting or donating online and thank you to everyone who has donated so far, even GBP 1 will go a long way,”
said Darren, who is looking forward to the big challenge.
