The town of Moncton in Brunswick has become a hotbed for iGaming companies in Canada, with roughly 100 firms located there.
A sleepy Canadian town is all over gambling news these days. The town of Moncton, New Brunswick is becoming a business hub for the gambling industry. Surprisingly, its not because of its casino. It is attracting gaming companies who want to have headquarters and development offices there.
Roughly 3,000 of Moncton’s residents are employed by gaming companies, including computer programmers, engineers and web designers. Local businessman Frederic Gonet touted the city’s prospering group of tech professionals: “So 3,000 employees that are well paid, to us I think that’s the jewel of our community.”

Canadian gambling laws are liberal when compared to the country’s southern neighbor. However, New Brunswick has only one land-based casino. Rather, 100 companies specializing in gaming, gambling and web-based business are located there.
In addition, it is home to the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and Spielo International, two firms which manufacture slot machines. Many tech companies like the location because it puts them in close proximity to these potentially large clients.
