Brazilian Grand Prix will not answer the question who will become the 2014 Formula 1 Champion.
Formula 1 season is drawing to a close with only two races left to go including the Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix. However, the biggest question for punters betting under Brazilian gambling laws is still unanswered. Hamilton is leading his teammate Rosberg by 24 points in the Drivers’ championship, and can’t even seal the deal in Brazil.
However, due to new rules, there will be double points on offer during the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the fate of the title can easily go all the way to the wire. This is of course good news for online sportsbooks in Brazil as betting on Formula 1 is intensifying in accordance to battle on the racetrack.
A bit of trivia
Hamilton just claimed his 10th win of the season at the United States Grand Prix in Texas, and made it five in a row. He will be definitely looking to make it six at Interlagos on Sunday and those who bet on sports in Brazil are widely backing the 2008 champion to do so.
Should Hamilton win on Sunday, and Rosberg fail to score points, Lewis can still miss out on the title if he doesn’t score any points in Abu Dhabi and Rosberg wins in the last race, claiming 50 points. Yes, the situation is very exciting, but some critics still finding words against the new regulations and the double points in the last race.
Quotes from the title contenders
Hamilton had the following comments before the racing weekend in Brazil: “I feel that I understand the processes that I need and I know what it takes. There’s no real special recipe or anything like that, I’m just going to work my arse off for these next two races and try to improve.”

• Online sportsbooks in Brazil expect Hamilton to win at Interlagos
• Champions’ crown will go down to the wire at the last race
• Some of the best betting odds can be found in the Fastest Lap market
Hamilton did admit that losing out the title because of the double points rule in Abu Dhabi “would suck”, and Rosberg confirmed he will accept the glory under any circumstances, who doesn’t want to be a champion?
Nico Rosberg commented: “It is what it is, I don’t really care. As long as I have one point more at the chequered flag at Abu Dhabi, I don’t care why or how. It’s the same for everybody… It’s a childhood dream, isn’t it, to be F1 World Champion? It would be very special.”
After picking up his fifth consecutive win in Austin last weekend, Hamilton said: “You don’t really look five or 10 races ahead. I’ve just always kept my head down, kept chipping away. I had those four wins early in the season, and then there was a bad patch from Monaco onwards.”
He went on to add: “Then Spa was like ‘I’m going to turn this up. I’m going to have to turn this up – this means war’. It was that kind of feeling. Reflecting on it, I turned the energy from that negative bomb into a positive. I’m not sure I do have an edge. Every weekend Nico resets. He comes in and qualifies on pole. He’s massively strong, mentally. He’s still there, still fighting.”
Looking at the results, it may seem that Lewis has advantage over his teammate, after dominating the last five races, but Hamilton understands that every new race is a challenge and he’s ready for another hot battle.
Other news before Brazilian Grand Prix
Following yet another dominant Mercedes weekend in Texas, the two front men are now the only contenders for the title, even on mathematical terms. Which leaves outright betting a bit dull, with a focus for other teams shifting on their prospects for next season. However, there are other betting markets to follow including of course the Grand Prix winner odds, which could be very rewarding this weekend.
The International Motoring Federation (FIA), the Formula 1 ruling body, has issued a provisional entry list, which included teams currently representing Marussia and Caterham, but their future is yet uncertain, and they both are expected to miss Interlagos, giving us another 18-car starting grid.
Entry payments for next season’s participation are due by the end of November, but by that time we will be more knowledgeable. And additionally we will most probably learn where 2-time champion Fernando Alonso, and 4-time champion Sebastian Vettel are going. And of course the championship will be decided by then too.
