Bwin.party is marching strong towards dominant position on the American online gambling market.

Ahead of the necessary changes to American gambling laws, which will potentially open up the country’s online gambling market, bwin.party is looking to secure its position.

Already having secured agreements with MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming, the renowned gambling operator signed a contract with the United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC), operating the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in California.

These agreements reveal the seriousness of bwin.party’s intentions to be on top of online casinos in United States when they become a reality. The UAIC is a California Indian tribe, which is federally recognized and plans to become one of the first qualified license applicants under new gambling legislation proposed in the state Senate.

According to the terms of the latest agreement Bwin.party will supply its technology and operations know-how to operate online poker sites in United States. All the necessary customer and service support will also be granted by the operator.

Co-chief executive officers of bwin.party, Norbert Teufelberger and Jim Ryan, had the following comments: “California is the largest state in the U.S. in terms of population and is known to have a significant number of poker players who like to play poker online.”

They went on to add: “Combining our own significant assets and resources with those of UAIC will create a strong partnership that is well-placed to seize the opportunities that will arise if appropriate online poker legislation is enacted in the Golden State .”

Tribal Chairman of UAIC, David Keyser, had his own comments on the matter: “We see the legalization of Internet poker and other Internet gaming as being inevitable. Having met with representatives from a number of different online gaming companies, bwin.party was our first choice as partner.”

He added: “With its expertise in online poker, proven technology and player loyalty we are confident of being able to maximize the revenue opportunity from a regulated online poker market in California and to continue to enhance the long-term prosperity of our community.”

California gambling legislation was proposed by Senators Wright and Steinberg in February 2012, and was titled: “The Internet Gambling Consumer Protection and Public-Private Partnership Act of 2012 (SB 1463).” It plans to regulate online gaming within California as well as license and tax online poker within the state with a tax rate of 10 percent gross gaming revenue.
