British Portuguese Gambling Regulation Collaboration Announced

There will be increased British Portuguese gambling regulation collaboration in future, thanks to an announced agreement strengthening ties.
According to UK gambling news, there will be increased British Portuguese gambling regulation collaboration. The body responsible for regulating gambling laws in the UK, the UK Gambling Commission has joined with the Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos of Instituto do Turismo de Portugal (SRIJ), which oversees Portuguese gambling laws.
The organisations will partner to counter criminal gambling activity, and criminal activity related to gambling. In addition to this, the collaboration will seek to eliminate prevent extreme and disproportionate gambling, whilst ensuring that all gambling online in Britain and Portugal is undertaken within the confines of existing regulation.

In order to achieve the set goals, the organisation will share information about criminal gambling activity, and cooperate in all necessary endeavours. They will jointly plan to ensure online gambling in both countries is transparent and fair.
The SRIJ released a statement: “ This bilateral cooperation agreement will strengthen and complement the general framework of the cooperation agreement on online gambling services signed by the gambling regulatory authorities of EEA Member States, dated November 2015”.
