New Bodog UK site introduces live dealer baccarat and other casino games to Chinese gamblers living outside China.
Bodog UK announced its plans to target Chinese living outside China with a new Asia-optimized website.
The Bodog UK site will feature live-dealer baccarat, first of its kind on the market. Baccarat is far more popular than blackjack and roulette combined on Asian land gambling spot, therefore hopes are high on the performance of the Chinese internet casino.
The Chinese-orientated online gambling enterprise will also offer traditional casino games as well as sports betting. The initial launch will not feature online poker.
Managing director Robert Gustafsson commented on the Chinese gambling news: “There are estimated to be at least 100,000,000 Chinese living outside China and if you then include Thai, Malay and Vietnamese expats you have more than just a niche market but one that has been ignored by other operators despite being far and away the largest consumer group of casino gamers on the planet.”
The site’s focus on people living outside China is explained by the fact residents of PRC are object to the strict Chinese gambling laws forbidding them to play in online casinos anywhere in the world.
Gustafsson continued: “The UK has a rich and historic culture of diversity and yet all online betting firms compete for the same consumer, driven by sports wagers.”
“The listed UK companies regularly cite more winning favorites than usual or a bad Royal Ascot as a performance indicator because of the huge dependency on sports betting, whereas in Asia, online gaming, while offering sports betting, is still 80 per cent casino.”
Gustafsson explained: “Bodog can offer a totally different product to a totally different audience and while we will still offer sports betting the all-important casino customer will be our main source of revenue.”
