Dutch rider Mathieu van der Poel is the biggest favorite
This week another road cycling race will start, the BinckBank Tour which is held in two countries, Belgium and the Netherlands. As a part of the UCI World Tour all top teams will take part in it with some very good riders. According to the BinckBank Tour betting preview Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel is the biggest favorite but let’s see his main rivals now.
The first BinckBank Tour was held in 2005 and we can find great riders in its previous winners. Like Spanish Ivan Gutierrez, four-time time trial world champion Tony Martin or local favorite Tom Dumoulin. They all won the general classifications while Peter Sagan and Sam Bennett have taken the green jersey before. This year the race will be a bit shorter, only five-days long to be able to fit into the amended 2020 schedule. Some of the big stars can miss it due to the Giro d’Italia which starts this weekend, it gives a great opportunity though for cyclists who compete in one-day classics later in October.
BinckBank Tour betting preview favor van der Poel’s victory
Online sportsbooks in the Netherlands offer the smallest odds, 2.50 for the victory of UCI ProTeam Alpecin-Fenix rider Mathieu van der Poel. The Dutch road race champion will take part in the tour for the first time and hopes to perform well on home soil. He won a stage in this year’s Tirreno-Adriatico a few weeks ago and finished in 4th place in the UEC European Road Championships at the end of August. His aim is to win a stage but he can get even more according to the bookmakers.
But Danish Soren Kragh Andersen can be a tough opponent according to the BinckBank Tour betting preview. He is in great form after winning two stages in the Tour de France where he produced successful breakaways a few kilometres ahead of the finish. Andersen will lead his team, Sunweb aiming for a good GC result in the race. His odds to finish in first place is 4.00 on bet365.
Other riders who can compete for the top spot
Online gambling sites in the Netherlands also mention Swiss Stefan Kung in the favorites with the odds of 6.50. He won the time trial European Championship this year and finished third in the world championship last weekend in Imola. So he seems to be in great form as well and can achieve another fine result in this race. Kung has already won a stage here two years ago and was in third place in the overall standing until the last stage where he crashed.
While former world champion Mads Pedersen will try to get some more memorable results for this season after not taking part in many events yet. He still got a podium finish in the last stage of this year’s Tour de France and a stage win in the Tour of Poland this August. Now he will be the main rider of his team, Trek-Segafredo with the odds of 9.00 to get the final victory.
