Stoke adds firepower and defensive cover to their ranks as they aim to move up the table in the upcoming Premier League season.
Mark Hughes was appointed manager of Stoke City following their decision to let go of Tony Pulis after seven seasons in charge. Hughes didn’t disappoint as he lead the team to a 9th place finish in the 2013-14 season, which was an improvement of four spots from a year prior.
During the summer the Potters were quite active by releasing two players from their contracts and letting Michael Kightly leave for Burnley. To replace them, Hughes recruited defenders Teixeira and Bardsley central midfielder SIdwell and attackers Diouf and Bojan Krkic, who hails from Barcelona’s La Masia academy.
Stoke is favorite to finish as top Midlands club
With these players, Stoke is equipped to charge the Premier League which will hopefully see them improve their position next year. While Hughes seems to be the right the man to manage the group of talented footballers that are at his disposal.
Despite being armed with some firepower, Bet365 believes that it is still somewhat likely that they will end up at the bottom half of the table once the season is over. They have been given odds of 1.53 (8/15) by the mobile betting provider. However, the Potters are favorites to be top Midlands club with odds of 2.10 (11/10).
