With the fashion of Ladies Day out of the way and the drunken excesses of St Patrick’s Day just a mere line on a charge-sheet the final day of the Cheltenham Festival is set to be one of the highlights of the year with some great racing in front of a massive, if slightly hungover, crowd. So to help those still fuzzy of mind at lunchtime on the day we look at who you should back if you bet on The Triumph Hurdle at Bet365 .

Ahead of the Cheltenham Festival the media were awash with the sort of disingenuous dismay about people’s behavior last year that didn’t quite hide their optimistic hope for ratings sake that people will be even more outrageous. Almost daring people to repeat the scenes of nudity, alfresco sex and excessive drinking the pearl-necklace-clutching finger wagging in the press has meant that some of the superb racing has taken a back seat and you can bet on the Triumph Hurdle being slightly overshadowed.

First race of the day after that celebration of all things Irish could be a bit of a rude awakening for those that allowed themselves to take advantage of UK gambling laws and bet on the Triumph Hurdle whilst the worst for drink. In the headlong build up to the main race of the day, The Cheltenham Gold Cup, and with a media watching the crowd as much as the horses, it could be easy to even dismiss it entirely, which is why it’s far better to wager ahead of schedule at Bet365  and its ilk….you know….whilst sober.

JCB Triumph Hurdle 2017

– The Top Of The Field –
• Ex Patriot – 20/1
• Dinaria Des Obeaux – 16/1
• Soldier In Action – 16/1
• Landofhopeandglory – 14/1
• Bapaume – 8/1
• Mega Fortune – 6/1
• Master Blueyes – 6/1
• Charli Parcs – 6/1
• Defi Du Seuil – 7/4

Placing a bet on the Triumph Hurdle, or any other race, whilst drunk (or otherwise intoxicated) is perhaps the very definition of irresponsible gambling, and sadly those carried away on the atmosphere of the day can often fall prey to this silliness, however with the internet awash with sites like Bet365 you can do your betting ahead of time and then drink till your posterior appears in The Sun for all posterity and the people from Sky News win an award for their coverage of the “Cheltenham Riots”.

Now at first glance a bet on the Triumph Hurdle looks a bit of a no brainer. Defi Du Seuil is one of the strongest competitors in the world and with five wins in five outings and trainer Philip Hobbs is looking for a third win to sit alongside the victories of Made In Japan back in 2004 and Detroit City in 2006. Does this make them an beatable team going in? If you like to bet on sports in UK at Bet365  and it’s like, should you really just plump for this 7/4 favorite or are there other opportunities to be had?

Superb Each-Way Options On Cheltenham Festival Day’s First Race

Obviously there are some silly bets to be had, Jazzy at 100/1 isn’t even worth an each-way punt if you’re going to bet on the Triumph Hurdle but Flying Tiger might be the each-way optimists’ wager of choice at 40/1, although Bet365 is giving Ex Patriot 20/1 and that might be interesting too. Of course closer to common sense betting we’ve Dinaria Des Obeaux at 16/1 and Landofhopeandglory at 14/1 both of which are in with a shout, although Soldier In Action might be found wanting at 16/1.

Bet365 gives Bapaume 8/1 sitting just behind a trio of good chances at 6/1. Just which of the three, Mega Fortune, Master Blueeys and Charli Parcs is your cup of tea might well depend on the weather, and still all of them are going to have to be lucky on the day to get by Defi Du Seuil, and there will be few in the UK gambling news coverage this weekend will be of anything save a third win for Hobbes, well, you know, except the riots, drunken sex, arrests, public apologies, and damage cost estimates.
