Dawid Malan And Tymal Mills Get Called Up
When England cancelled the four-day tour of Pakistan, it did itself no favors. Most observers will view it as a self-interested, quite mercenary, decision. Thus you can bet on the T20 World Cup to involve more than just cricket. We’re bound to see an off-pitch narrative, especially if the two sides meet. Anyone in the UK gambling laws of propriety will prevent the odd comment from slipping out is probably wrong. Not that the odds on the T20 World Cup at Bet365 will change much.
It’s just not cricket. England were due to play a four-day tour of Pakistan and cancelled. They cited security concerns, player fatigue and a whole host of other non-reasons. Pakistan noted that none of these stopped big name England stars playing in the IPL. Given the aid Pakistan lent England last year this seems rather rude. Pakistan are thus not at all happy and should they clash in the tournament you can bet on the T20 World Cup to contain at least one “grudge” match.
Of course, normally you can bet on the T20 World Cup to involve a little backstory. A tale or two. However, this time round, with the UAE hosting, there’s a little less room for antics. So, the media will swarm over the potential in this instead. Naturally, not everyone who likes to bet on sports in the UK will buy into this. They’re quite aware that Pakistan have every right to their anger. But you can’t expect the jingoistic rightwing British tabloids to see it in that way, can you?
ECB Look Mean-Spirited Cancelling Pakistan Tour
So with a barrage of faux indignation that people might expect of the UK what the UK expects of everyone else, we’re off. Chris Silverwood has named a balanced squad, only a Ben Stokes away from as good as it could be. Stokes is on an “indefinite break” for his mental health. That doesn’t mean he won’t play, it’s just exceedingly unlikely at this point. Which is a shame. You can always bet on the T20 World Cup benefiting from the presence of match-turners like Stokesy.
T20 World Cup Odds
- Anyone Else – 500/1+
- Afghanistan – 50/1
- Sri Lanka – 40/1
- Bangladesh – 40/1
- South Africa – 12/1
- Pakistan – 10/1
- New Zealand – 7/1
- West Indies – 6/1
- Australia – 6/1
- England – 10/3
- India – 5/2
You can bet on England missing him, and probably bet on India sighing with relief. India don’t need to deal with fireworks, they want to play the England they beat in the Summer. They’re currently the best bet on the T20 World Cup at online betting sites in the UK like Bet365. They get 5/2 to win whilst England trail them at 10/3. For reference and comparison, a bet on Pakistan loiters further down the chances list at an easy to remember 10/1. That’s probably quite generous.

Certainly, those unwilling to pick up the odds on India, or indeed the odds on England, are going to bet on Australia. Sure, the West Indies gets the same odds of 6/1, but they’re far less predictable. The Aussies are far more stable these days. They’ve a few new faces who’ll enjoy the tournament same as England have. Dawid Malan and Tymal Mills are both likely to feature. Apparently, Chris Silverwood and England bet on the T20 World Cup needing innovative play.
“One feels slighted and humiliated.”
- Ramiz Raja – Chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board
Perhaps it does. The odds on Australia and the West Indies however hover well behind the favorites. Can they turn on the magic? Certainly once you’d have bet on the West Indies to do so again. But now? They’ve other issues. So if you are going to bet on the T20 World Cup at online sportsbook sites in the UK like Bet365 just remember to assume nothing. Especially nothing in the press about Pakistan and England getting personal. Management aren’t players, and people know it.

We take a look at why we can bet on the T20 World Cup to have at least one media-driven off-pitch narrative after England snub Pakistan.
