The 60th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen nears the end. This week will follow the Second Chance round to define the last four finalists of the contest. The leading betting agencies already offer to bet on Andra Chansen duels. Let’s have a look at the competing acts.

The penultimate round of the 2020 Melodifestivalen will take place at the Stiga Sports Arena in Eskilstuna on 29 February. This stage intends to give a second chance to the artists who didn’t qualify straight out of the semifinals. Eight artists will form duels and compete against each other. The winner of duels will proceed to finals. Currently, online sportsbook sites in Sweden have markets running on the Andra Chansen acts. Who will secure tickets to Friends Arena this week?

Bet on Andra Chansen duels
Anis Don Demina 1.30
Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron 3.20
Felix  Sandman 1.35
Frida Öhrn 2.95
Méndez feat. Alvaro Estrella 1.65
Drängarna 2.10

Pick Don Demina as a sure bet on Andra Chansen

The first duel will see Anis Don Demina go against the duet of Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron. According to Unibet Sportsbook oddsmakers, the Swedish DJ is drawing ahead as the frontrunner of the matchup. His upbeat party song has been among favorites in the third semifinal and garnered over 700k streams since it’s release. Fans were confused when it didn’t make the finals outright.

Opposed to that, the “Surface” by Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron is a typical Andra Chansen act. The performance is rather subdued, despite the obvious chemistry between the singers. It’s a torch song with a moody staging, that pales in comparison to Demina’s schlager.

Sandman vs Öhrn

Year after year Melodifestivalen welcomes back the old contestants. This edition is no exception. Despite his young age, Felix Sandman has become a household name in Melfest. This year will mark his third participation in the show but the second one as a soloist. Following the announcement of contestants, online sportsbook news in Sweden named him the odds-on 2020 Melodifestivalen winner.

The former FO&O member has noticeably evolved as a singer and matured as a performer. Finding his sound, Felix has come out of his shell and loosened up on stage. Albeit, “Boys with Emotions” didn’t proceed to finals straight away, it has amassed over a million streams.

Frida Öhrn is another Melodifestivalen veteran. This year will mark her third performance as well. Trading at the odds of 2.95 at Unibet Sportsbook, Frida’s act risks to remain out of the contest. Her country-pop song “We are one” has the drive and the message, but the staging is quite poor. Regardless of Frida’s professionalism, she makes up the unfavorable side of the duel. If you are going to bet on Andra Chansen then this duel is a sure bet.

Méndez and Estrella vs Drängarna

The situation in this duel is conflicted. While Méndez and Alvaro Estrella lead the bookies’ predictions, “Vamos amigos” is not an obvious favorite. There were numerous Latin acts on the Melfest stage. Some of them even advanced to finals, including Méndez’s “Everyday” in 2018. But then his bid was stronger.

On the other hand, the 2.10 odds rate for Drängarna is well justified. The Swedish rock-pop band went for an upbeat Swedish folk song. Some find it fun and refreshing but the majority simply doesn’t dig in the genre. The language may also make invoke mixed reactions. Besides, a Swedish-language song progressed through this round four years ago. Don’t forget to check our latest review about Unibet Sportsbook, before placing a bet on Andra Chansen.
