The second leg of the semi-finals in mid-week will truly decide who will be the 2018 Copa del Rey finalists. We expect Barcelona and Sevilla to advance, retelling the 2016 final.
At the end of the season all clubs will pause to analyze the good and bad work over the cause of the campaign. According to online sportsbooks in Spain it will be a great success for Sevilla to be one of the 2018 Copa del Rey finalists, especially that they struggle to preserve their spot on top of the six in La Liga, and they have a very difficult task against Man Utd in the Champions League knockout phase. On the other hand Ernesto Valverde looks forward to secure his shot on the first title with Barcelona. He already pushed the envelope by scoring an undefeated record of 22 games in La Liga this season, but the joy of winning is incomplete without raising titles.
Barca to win the 4th edition of the Copa
Barcelona are in pole position to reach a fifth consecutive Copa del Rey final after Luis Suarez’s winner saw off Valencia (1-0) at the Camp Nou. Suarez’s 67 minute goal broke the deadlock in a frustrating encounter and secured a head start in next Thursday’s second leg at Mestalla.
In the first leg the visitors were on the back foot from the off as Barca took control. Although the visitors are going through a defensive injury crisis with five players missing, they were highly successful in their ultra-defensive tactics, shutting down Barca’s attacks until the late of the second half. However since Valencia are one goal behind they will try to cause more danger in the second leg but that will lead to opening-up the game, which may overtly end up in the domination for Catalans.
Sevilla to face more challenging quest

Sevilla, a five-time Copa winner, are trying to return to the final for the first time since being beaten by Barcelona in 2016. Although their advancement to the semi-final came by impressively beating Atletico Madrid (5-2) on aggregate, they are facing Leganes who keep Copa del Rey dream alive by salvaging a (1-1) draw in the first leg after a mistake by Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
Leganes never reached the last eight of the Copa in the team’s 89 year history, and they advanced to the semi-final by eliminating Real Madrid. Will Sevilla be able to end Leganes dream next Wednesday? Or the Leganes coach Asier Garitano will write the history by advancing to the final?
