Overview of the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix

Car racing is back after the longest pause in recent history of Formula One. The season technically started with testing sessions at the same track, so the teams didn’t have to go any further before the actual race. What is interesting, this season is the first to hold only one testing 3-day session, and due to this change, the drivers were concerned if 3 days is enough to feel the car.

Although there were not any major changes in car regulations, it has always been important for the drivers to get to know the car as quickly as possible. The testing session brought quite curious conclusions, such as Aston Martin’s strong race pace and lower tyre degradation compared to Mercedes and Ferrari, not even midfield teams where Aston Martin has had its niche.

Ted Kravitz from Sky Sports F1 placed Aston Martin above Mercedes in presumed hierarchy according to the tests. Though only a very brave or rather insane person would make an entire season prediction based on tests; still, some points could be noted.

Red Bull looked to be even more dominant than they were last season, Mercedes would be struggling with race pace, midfield teams are definitely closer to top-3 teams and that was proven by Aston Martin. The pack looks a tad tighter this year, meaning that the upcoming season will be highly competitive.

Bahrain Grand Prix Betting Odds & Predictions

Our prediction for the Bahrain Grand Prix is that both Red Bulls take the pole position and win the race. Even if Verstappen retires, Perez is going to pick up the pieces. Ferrari is next behind by the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix betting odds at Bet365

Fernando Alonso in Aston Martin might find himself as high as 5th or even 4th in the order, if everything goes right. Bookies give pretty good odds for the Spanish race driver to take the podium. Another team to watch is HAAS. On paper they have one of the best and experienced driver line-ups and this experience along with a good car might bring some spice to the field.

The flop of the weekend looks like going to be McLaren Mercedes. They had dreadful testing by their standards – the lowest mileage of all teams and uncompetitive times set even on faster tyres. The car is hard to control and unpredictable. All this points at McLaren struggling not just for the season opener but more, until the team fixes issues.
