Authorities Started Blocking Betting Sites in Russia

bwin.party and Unibet are just two of the blocked betting sites in Russia as authorities continue with their plans to clean the country’s online gambling market.
The fight continues against illegal gambling and betting sites in Russia. Keeping up with the plan, authorities began blocking the websites of betting and gambling operators. The list of blocked sites includes Unibet, bwin.party, Betway and 888 Poker. Some local sites, such as Favbet and 1xbet, received similar treatment. Russia’s plans for vanquishing illegal online gambling were unveiled last year and according to Russian gambling news they’re backed by the president, Vladimir Putin.
Numerous measures against illegal gambling and betting sites in Russia
Since the previous measures did not accomplish the excepted effect, the involved bodies went for a different tactic. As we previously reported, the Ministry of Finance introduced bill that would block bank transfers between gambling operators and Russian residents. The current Russian gambling laws forbid the country’s citizens to participate in online gambling or lotteries without regards to location. Realizing the situation, some major sites have decided to cease their services by themselves.
