You could hear Daniel Ricciardo giggling to himself as he coasted around his victory lap having just won what was perhaps the most fascinating Grand Prix of the decade. It might have only been the second time the Baku street circuit had hosted the top tier of motorsport but it sealed its infamy with a spectacularly dramatic race that had everything Formula One could have hoped for to claw back some of its audience, so just how can an Austrian Grand Prix bet hope to excite anyone? Hamilton & Vettel’s Feud May Open Up F1 Field

No one would be more happy with that eventuality than Lance Stroll who at just 18 put in a superbly mature drive in Azerbaijan despite all the drama around him. Pipped at the post by a surging Valtteri Bottas the young Canadian’s podium finish speaks much to his future in the sport, if not his attraction as an Austrian Grand Prix bet at just 500/1 at Bet365 to win. Even each way that’s stretching it despite his drive in Baku, but the bookies seem disinclined to believe the Mercedes vs Ferrari spat will alter results.

This is obvious in both Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo, the two Red Bull drivers, only getting 25/1 to win despite the team’s victory last weekend. If it gets messy up front these two will both pounce on the chance and both are a superb Austrian Grand Prix bet, although if you’re going to take advantage of Austrian gambling laws to do so, you might just want to make that each way, Kimi Raikkonen might not be as unlucky in Austria as he was in Azerbaijan and indeed he and Bottas are another simmering cauldron.

The two Finns came together again in Baku and whilst Kimi and his Ferrari gets only 16/1 as an Austrian Grand Prix bet this weekend the lucky Bottas gets 4/1 in his Mercedes, however the 9/4 that Sebastian Vettel has as up against Lewis Hamilton on 5/6 is slightly strange given these two are now at each others throats and are likely to be neck and neck. An Austrian Grand Prix bet doesn’t have to be on them crashing into each other, but it does have to take it into account and the bookies like Bet365 don’t seem to have bothered.

With the team orders and tactics that will now follow on from this feud being ignited on the streets of Baku it could well be worth placing a speculative Austrian Grand Prix bet or two on other lesser drivers making the podium.
