Russian Daniil Medvedev is the defending champion

He also takes part this year just like world No1 Novak Djokovic
This year’s Western and Southern Open has been relocated from its original location in Cincinnati to New York and is held this week. It is one of the Masters 1000 tournaments in the ATP Tour, which guarantees the participation of top players. In the ATP New York betting preview world No1 Novak Djokovic is the favorite but he is facing a tough competition.
The Western and Southern Open, which was also called the Cincinnati Masters earlier, was the oldest tennis tournament in the US held in its original city. The first open was organized in 1899, and this will be the 118th edition of the men’s tournament. And even though this year’s Open will be held in New York, it is still a very prestigious event. In the former winners we can find the biggest names from John Mcenroe to Roger Federer. Russian Daniil Medvedev is the defending champion and in the favorites again. But several other top 20 players have been in the field too, with some of them already being knocked out on the first day.
ATP New York betting preview favors Djokovic to win
World No1 Novak Djokovic started this year in a superb form with 18 consecutive wins. First he won all his eight games at the ATP Cup and helped Serbia to win its first title. Then he won the Australian Open defeating Roger Federer and Dominc Thiem on the road. And Djokovic managed to get the victory in the Dubai Tennis Championship defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. As the top favorite for the US Open, online sportsbooks in Serbia are offering the smallest odds, 1.80 for his win in this tournament as well.
Last year’s winner, Daniil Medvedev can be one of his biggest rivals, following world No3 Dominc Thiem was beaten yesterday by another Serbian player, Filip Krajinovic. But Medvedev is still in the competition after winning in two straight-set against American Marcos Giron. The Russian player had his breakthrough last season after reaching six tournament finals. He won against Djokovic here last year in the semi-final,but he lost against him in the ATP Tour. But they can easily meet again, where he will have a chance to take revenge. Medvedev’s odds to defend his title is 5.00 in the ATP New York betting preview.
Can Murray return to his best form?
3-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray has beaten German Alexander Zverev in the second round. He will meet today Canadian Milos Raonic in the third round. It will be another tough game for Murray, who has been struggling with injuries in the last few years and only took part in a few competitions. But he seems to be in a great physical condition now and played confidently against the world No7.
He won’t have an easy job against Raonic though, who got to the quarter-finals in this year’s Australian Open but lost the match there against Djokovic. The former Wimbledon finalist hasn’t been in his top form recently. He is currently on the 30th place in the world ranking. But now he has a chance to produce a great result with the odds of 12.50 at 1xBet to win the tournament. First though Raonic has to defeat his old rival, Murray, who he faced 12 times before. The Scottish is leading 9-3 in their rivalry, and has the odds of 2.31 to win again. To find all the favorites and their odds, visit 1xBet after reading our latest review about 1xBet sportsbook.
