The question of online gambling in Pennsylvania has been open for a while as the state’s gambling industry is threatened by the competition from surrounding states. On March 20th, another bill has been put forward by Democratic senate members. SB 524 calls for a 25% tax rate and $10 million licensing fee. Besides SB 524, there are two similar bills to be considered, but those propose lower tax rates. The majority of the state’s 12 casinos are pro online gambling, as it could increase their revenues. According to US gambling news, internet casinos in Pennsylvania could generate $300 million per year.
