After the Euro2020 tournament and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, all football teams will concentrate on the next big event, the 2022 World Cup. At the moment, qualifiers for the tournament are still going on in all continents, with the group games being played in Europe. Matchday 4 will take place next Wednesday and Thursday with 25 matches. In the wide choice of games, we take a look at the biggest teams and the most promising ties with high odds.

2022 World Cup European Qualifiers Betting Odds Favor Croatia Against Russia

One of the top games of the round seems to be the Russia vs Croatia match in Group H where the two group leaders will meet. Both teams have six points after three matches with two wins and one defeat. The runner-up of the previous world cup, the Croatian team lost their first game against Slovenia in March. But got compulsory wins against Cyprus and Malta in the next two games. Now online sportsbooks in Croatia predict their victory in Russia with the odds of 2.25.

But it won’t be an easy game against the Russian team. Even though they had a disappointing run in the European Championship after finishing fourth in their group. A new manager, Valeri Karpin leads the group in the qualifiers now with an aim for better results. Their odds to keep the three points at home are 3.20 in the 2022 World Cup European qualifiers betting odds. A tight game is expected between Slovenia and Slovakia in the other game in the group with both teams in need of a win. Slovenia has only three points at the moment after losing against Russia and Cyprus. While Slovakia is in third place with two draws and a huge win against Russia. Now the home team is favored though to get the win with odds of 2.30.

Top Teams Should Win Their Next Games

Relatively easy games wait for the top European teams, like the defending world champions, France. They host Bosnia-Herzegovina in Strasbourg next Wednesday, who only has one point so far. But they got that point in Finland after drawing 2-2 with Teemu Pukki’s team, so the French squad can’t underestimate them. The Portuguese team also plays at home against the Republic of Ireland. The Euro2016 winners lead Group A against Serbia thanks to their better goal difference. Surely Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates want to win the group and avoid any further play-off game. Their odds to win on Wednesday are 1.25.

A more difficult task awaits for Gareth Southgate’s English team who will visit the Hungarian capital on Thursday. The runners-up of the Euro2020 tournament are 100% in Group I after winning all three games so far. Hungary follows them in second place with two wins and a draw. But to defeat the Three Lions can be a big ask from Marco Rossi’s team whose odds to do so are 8.00 on bet365. The new European champions, Italy, will meet Bulgaria and can continue their winning streak. Germany was knocked out by England in the last 16 in Euro2020. They stand only in third place in Group J after a shocking defeat at home against North Macedonia. Now under new manager Hansi Flick the team can start against an easy opponent, Liechtenstein.

2022 World Cup European Qualifiers Betting Odds: Spain Can Win in Sweden

Luis Enrique’s team will visit Sweden on Thursday in the big game of Group B. The two teams are first and second at the moment and are likely to fight for the top spot. After their superb performance in Euro2020, the young Spanish team is favored to get the win even away. Online gambling sites in Croatia offer the odds of 1.66 for their win. Sweden reached the last 16 in Euros this summer but lost there against Ukraine. Now Janne Andersson’s team will need a much better performance if they want to keep the three points at home. Their odds to do so are 5.25.
