Chase Elliott is favored to win his second title ahead of Bell, Logano, and Chastain
The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series will end this weekend with the Championship 4 race, held on Sunday, 6th of November at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. Kyle Larson is the defending champion but he couldn’t qualify for the final this time. Unlike the 2020 winner, Chase Elliott, who is the top favorite in the 2022 NASCAR Phoenix 500 winner odds. But all the other finalists can get the win, let’s see their odds below.
The last race of this year’s NASCAR Cup Series is held again at Phoenix which has been hosting the Championship Race since 2020. 36 drivers will compete in the event but only four of them are eligible to win the title. Following the 9 playoff races, they are Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Ross Chastain, and Chase Elliott.
So, whoever crosses the line first amongst them, will be crowned the new champion. Logano and Elliott will aim for their second title. While Bell and Chastain can win their first one. Logano has the biggest experience after reaching the final for the fifth time. But Elliott will also appear in his third consecutive championship final with a big chance of winning it.
The 2022 NASCAR Phoenix 500 Winner Odds Favor Elliott Ahead of Bell
Chase Elliott has been outstanding this season after winning five races and leading over 800 laps. He won the regular season title but needed his bonus points to qualify for the final. Still, online sportsbooks in the US favor him to win the race and the title.
They offer the odds of +225.00 for the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s victory. Which is not surprising after his great performance all season. Plus he has good results from this track after winning here in 2020 and finishing in the top five on five more occasions. Elliott only finished 11th in the spring race here, so his win isn’t so straightforward.
Christopher Bell follows him in the 2022 NASCAR Phoenix 500 winner odds after winning the last Round of 8 race at Martinsville last weekend. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver got three wins in the season, two of them in the playoff. So he can handle pressure at the right time which might be a great advantage now.
Even though Bell will make his first appearance in the Championship 4, his odds to win there are not bad with +375.00. His previous record at the track is not too great though. After his best results have been two 9th-place finishes last season. But the 27-year-old driver had his breakthrough season in 2022 which is only his third year in the top category. So nothing seems impossible for him now.
Chances of Logano and Chastain
Joey Logano is the most experienced driver among the four finalists. He can win his second championship title now. The Team Penske driver qualified for the final with his win in Las Vegas, which was his third victory in the season. He won before in Darlington and the first race at Gateway.
Logano hasn’t been as dominant in the season as Elliott, but he knows how to win in difficult situations. He also has good results from this track. After winning the spring race in 2020 and finishing as a runner-up in 2021. He finished 9th this year and has an odds of +450.00 to win on Sunday.
The fourth contender for the title is the biggest surprise, Trackhouse Racing Team driver Ross Chastain. He got his first win of the series this season. And he has already achieved the best result of his career by getting to the last four. Surely Chastain won’t be satisfied with a fourth-place finish now and will aim for victory. Online gambling sites in the US offer the highest odds for his win with +500.00.
But no one should underestimate him following his great move in the last race in Martinsville. In the last lap, Chastain drove his car around the wall and moved from 10th place to the 5th. This result guaranteed his place in the final after he overtook Denny Hamlin at the finish line. We shouldn’t expect similar moves from him this weekend, but he might come up with something else to get the win.
