The new MotoGP season starts this weekend, on the 6th of March in Qatar. So it’s time to check the biggest favorites to fight for the championship title. Including the defending champion, Fabio Quartararo, and the 2020 champion, Joan Mir. But the 2022 MotoGP season predictions favor the eight-time champion, Marc Marquez to win the title after he seems to be back in his pre-injury form again.
The 74th season of the MotoGP, the highest-class motorcycle tournament is looking to bring even more excitement for motorsport fans. Even though one of the legends of the sport, nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi has retired from the sport. Luckily another multiple champion, Marc Marquez is still racing and hopes to get back to his best form. But the champions of the last two years, Joan Mir and Fabio Quartararo will be in the favorites too along with last year’s runner-up, Francesco Bagnaia. We can also see some new faces this season like the 2021 Moto2 champion, Remy Gardner. And the Moto2 runner-up, Raul Fernandez who only spent one season in the second-class. Both of them will ride for Tech3 KTM where their teammates, Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira can fight for an even better result than last year.
Champions of The Last Two Years Are Also In The Favorites
Fabio Quartararo was very confident last season and won his first MotoGP title with a significant difference. He got five wins and five more podium finishes along with five pole positions.
The French rider is one of the biggest talents of the sport and can win several more titles in the next few years. It will be tough to win back-to-back though with the re-emerge of Marquez and other rivals. Quartararo was also complaining about his new Yamaha motor and its speed on the tests. Online gambling sites in Spain still mention him in the biggest favorites with the odds of 5.50.
The 2020 MotoGP champion, Joan Mir’s chances of another title are worse though. In spite of finishing third last year. The Spanish Suzuki rider didn’t any win races in 2021. But he finished on the podium on six occasions and gave another balanced performance. Suzuki hired Livio Suppo as a new team manager, who already won titles with Ducati and Honda before. He might help Mir as well for another title with the odds of 17.00 to do so. Bagnaia’s teammate at Ducati, Jack Miller also had a good season last year after finishing fourth in the overall standings. The Australian got two wins in 2021, the first ones since his sole victory in 2016. With a fast motor, he can get more wins and even fight for the title just like Bagnaia. With the odds of 17.00 to become the champion.
2022 MotoGP Season Predictions Favor Marquez to Win The Title
Marc Marquez is still only 29 years old, but he has already won six MotoGP, one Moto2, and one 125cc World Championship title. Since his accident in 2020 Marquez hasn’t been able to race at such a level as before.
The Spanish rider had to miss the whole 2020 season and the first two races in 2021 after breaking his humerus in his right arm. He did return back last season but his fans had to wait until June for his first victory at the German GP. Marquez eventually finished 7th in the championship with three wins and a podium finish.
Now he is ready to fight for his 9th title with his new Honda bike. With online sportsbooks in Spain offering the smallest odds, 2.24 for his victory. One of his biggest rivals according to the 2022 MotoGP season predictions can be last year’s runner-up, Francesco Bagnaia. The Italian finished 26 points behind Quartararo but he still had a great season. As the 2018 Moto2 champion got his first victories in the top-class after winning four races in the season. If Bagnaia can ride on the same level as at the end of 2021, it will be difficult to beat him. His odds to win the first title for Ducati since 2007 are 3.00 on 22Bet.
