2021 MotoGP Italian race is held this weekend, on the 30th of May in Mugello
-
Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia is the top favorite ahead of his teammate
-
Current championship leader Fabio Quartararo can also get a good result
The 2021 MotoGP season continues this weekend at the famous circuit of Mugello, the home of Ferrari. The event was cancelled last year, but now all top riders will have a chance to claim victory. The 2021 MotoGP Italian race predictions favor Francesco Bagnaia ahead of the current championship leader, Fabio Quartararo.
The first Italian motorcycle race was held in 1949 at Monza which hosted the event until 1968. Then Imola and Misano also joined in and held the Italian race until 1994. When Mugello became the home of it. Italian riders generally achieve good results in the race, with Giacomo Agostini having the most, 13 wins. But Carlo Ubbiali and Valentino Rossi also got 9 wins in all categories. Danilo Petrucci won the last event in 2019 but another victory from the KTM rider would be unexpected. He got the victory then as a Ducati rider and the Italian team is the big favorite again. Especially after the great start of the season, with three of their riders standing in the top four.
2021 MotoGP Italian race predictions favor Italian victory
Francesco Bagnaia is spending only his third season in the top category but currently he is in second place in the championship. Only a point behind the leader, Fabio Quartararo. The 2018 Moto2 champion joined the Ducati Lenovo Team before the season and has been performing superbly since. He finished three times on the podium while his worst result is a 6th-place finish in Doha. Now the 24-year-old Italian is the biggest favorite of the online sportsbooks in Italy to get his first win with the odds of 4.14.
But surely he won’t have an easy task to finish on top even on home soil. Bagnaia’s teammate, Jack Miller can be one of his biggest rivals. Who has the odds of 5.00 in the 2021 MotoGP Italian race predictions. Miller is in fourth place at the moment, 16 points behind the leader. But the Australian is in great form after winning the last two races in Jerez and Le Mans. Without his retirement in the Portuguese race he could be further ahead, but he is still having a good season. Miller hasn’t got any good results in Murello yet, as he had to retire on most of the previous races.
Quartararo and Zarco will aim for the victory as well
Fabio Quartararo is leading the championship but his lead is only a single point. So surely the Yamaha rider will try to get as many points as he can. He had a good start just like last season after winning the races in Doha and Portimao. Quartararo was leading in Spain as well when his arm-pump issue slowed him down. After a surgery the French rider returned back in Le Mans where he got another podium-finish. So it looks like his problem is solved for now. Yamaha also got great results from this circuit and Quartararo can be their next winner with the odds of 5.45.
Online gambling sites in Italy also mention his compatriot, Johann Zarco in the favorites. The Ducati rider is in third place in the championship, after three second-place finishes. Zarco joined the Pramac Ducati team this season and has been having his best season in MotoGP. The two-time Moto2 champion doesn’t have any win yet in the top category but he might get in now. His odds to do so is 6.50. The six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez will also try to get a good result in his fourth race of the season. His return from last year’s injury hasn’t gone too well yet with a 7th and 9th-place finish. But the Honda rider got the victory here in 2014 beside two podium-finishes, making him a favorite as well.
