According to these acts all forms of land-based gambling are legal in Trinidad and Tobago. However, no form of online gambling has been regulated as of July 2018 and no licenses for online gambling providers have been issued by the relevant authorities in the country.
The regulatory body of the land-based gambling activities in Trinidad and Tobago is the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Commission. The legal functioning of the online gambling sector is planned to be supervised by the same body, once it is developed. Besides its function as a supervisor, the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Commission is the official body that grants licenses to all casinos, sportsbooks, or other types of gambling operators, brick and mortar as well as online, which like to operate in Trinidad and Tobago.
