Gambling Laws in Qatar 

The Islamic Sharia is the main source of the country’s legislation according to Article 1 of the Consitution of Qatar, which means that there is no legal gambling in Qatar. Moreover, Article 763 of the Law No.22 of 2004 Regarding Promulgating the Civil Code is explicit that “any agreement on gambling or wager shall be void.” In this way, the authorities have the power to sanction everyone who is involved in gambling activities by imposing the punishments stated in Articles 275 and 276 of the Law No. 11 of the 2004 Penal Code. The general prohibition holds for online gambling as well, as part of the internet content prohibited under the Sharia refers also to the different varieties of online gambling sites
