  • Twente will host Fiorentina in the 2nd leg of the Conference League play-off
  • The first match ended with a 2-1 home win in Italy
  • The Serie A club is favored to win on Thursday and qualify for the group stage

One of the tightest ties in the Europa Conference League play-off round is the one between Twente and Fiorentina. The Italian club won the first leg at home 2-1 and has the lead against their Dutch opponent. Now they must keep this advantage in the home of Twente which won’t be an easy task according to the Twente vs Fiorentina betting tips. Bookmakers offer similar odds for both teams’ victory but favor the Italians to qualify.

Just like the Champions and the Europa League, the UEFA Europa Conference League will also hold the second legs of the play-off round this week. 44 teams still have a chance of reaching the group stage including the Dutch and Italian clubs, Twente and Fiorentina.

The first leg in Florence ended with a 2-1 home win, but a one-goal lead can still be turned around. At least that’s what Twente fans will hope for. Their team qualified for a group stage 10 years ago, in the 2012/13 Europa League season when they finished at the bottom of their group. While Fiorentina appeared in the group stage last time in the 2016/17 season. Now both teams will try to reach the last 32 again.

Twente vs Fiorentina Betting Tips Expect a Tight Result on the Second Game

Fiorentina started their new Serie A season with a 3-2 win against Cremonese then draw against Empoli. What is even more important that Vincenzo Italiano’s team also got the win against Twente in the first leg of the Europa Conference League play-off round last week. The team won 2-1 with the goals of Nicolas Gonzalez and Arthur Cabral. Now they will arrive at Enschede with a one goal lead. They have slightly smaller odds, 2.45 to win away as well. While online sportsbooks in the Netherlands highly favor them to qualify for the group stage with the odds of 1.28.

Still, we shouldn’t write off Twente as the Dutch club finished fourth in last season’s Eredivisie. They had been unbeaten in the new season until their match against Fiorentina.  After winning their first two games in the league. And knocking out Serbian team Cukaricki with 7-2 on aggregate in the previous round of the Conference League. The two teams met for the first time last week, so there is no common history to analyze. But based on their match in Italy both clubs are on similar level. Even though Fiorentina’s squad value is much higher than Twente’s. The Twente vs Fiorentina betting tips offer similar odds for a home victory on Thursday with 2.70. While the odds of a draw are 3.60 on bet365.

Key Players in Both Teams

So let’s see which players can decide the winner of the tie. Fiorentina has great forwards like the goal scorers of the previous game. Argentine Nicolas Gonzalez and Brazilian Arthur Cabral. Along with new arrival Luka Jovic who left Real Madrid to join the Italian club. The Serbian striker is hoping to get back to his form that he enjoyed at Eintracht Frankfurt earlier. His odds to score any time in the game are 2.75.

Gonzalez’s odds to find the net are 2.87. Another new signing, Italian midfielder Rolando Mandragora has also scored for his new club in the new season. Just like one of the key member of the squad, Giacomo Bonaventura. The club’s most expensive signing, Brazilian defender Dodo can strengthen the team’s defense and block Twente’s attempts.

The Dutch side signed Dutch midfielder Michel Vlap from RSC Anderlecht in the summer. And Czech midfielder Michal Sadilek from PSV Eindhoven. Both of them can feature in the starting eleven at the De Grolsch Veste. Along with veteran striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel who has the smallest odds, 2.60 to score any time during the game. He is followed by the goal scorer of the Italian game, Vaclav Cerny.

His odds to score again are 3.25 on online gambling sites in the Netherlands. Ron Jans’ team is likely to miss the captain, Wout Brama on Thursday after his recent injury. Scoring will be crucial for the home team but knowing the Italian team’s high-level defense, it won’t be an easy task. If they can do, they might have a chance of getting to the group stage. With bookmakers offering the odds of 3.50 for Twente’s overall success.
