New France vs Australia World Cup betting preview
As defending champions, France are in terrible form. Despite having one of the most talented squads in the world with multiple options for each position, they only won one match out of six in the Nations League. They dropped some points but were still ranked 4th by FIFA. Australia won their last three games but they played against Jordan and New Zealand. So you see, the competition doesn’t match the one in UEFA. Alas, you probably already know towards which direction our France vs Australia betting preview is leaning.
France almost have an 80% chance to win this game according to early previews. The defending champions are also missing Kanté and Pogba. Benzema isn’t included in the current squad either. Furthermore, from France’s current squad, Varane, Tchouameni, and Koundé are injured. We don’t think these absences will be too disastrous against Australia but the impact of these injuries will be felt later on. Check out our World Cup betting guide for more detail.
The Socceroos are outmatched in experience by a lot, as well as in international goals scored by the current squad. France will have plenty of options to choose from when they face Australia on 22 November. Both Giroud and Mbappé can be picked as potential goalscorers. Of course, we’d recommend waiting with this betting market until the starting lineup is revealed. We also expect the total number of goals to be over 2.5.
