Mobile Casinos in Germany
There is a nationwide prohibition on online gambling in Germany, except for the handful of operators who obtained their licenses from Schleswig-Holstein before the ban. However, as of January 2017, even they do not offer mobile casinos.
The nominal mobile penetration rate is around 150%, and even when looking for the real rate of mobile use, it turns out that nearly each German who can lift a mobile phone possesses one.
Over half of the mobiles in use are smartphones, but only 6 out of 10 smartphone owners use the device to access the internet. Android is by far the most prevalent operating system, with around 75% of the smartphones powered by the little green robot.
When it comes to service, Telekom and Vodafone have most of the subscribers, sharing 70% of the market between them. E-Plus and O2 serve the rest. All operators offer good mobile internet access, though the two largest ones have a slightly better coverage.
