WSOP 2014 Makes Record With The Second Largest Live Tournament in Poker History

The World Series of Poker Millionaire Maker Event draws 7,977 entries, which is more than last year’s fabulous success and it makes up the second largest live tournament in poker history.
The only tournament that had more participants was the 2006 WSOP main event, which made it into the gambling news and stayed in the history of poker.

This year’s tournament is also extremely competitive and unseen atmosphere was created at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino.
What is even more remarkable about the event that takes place according to all US gambling laws is that all the action began in the same day. The first part of the tournament included 4,722 players, starting at 11 am. The second part welcomed 3,255 and had to start later, as there were not enough playing tables.
A total of 819 players will earn a part of the prize pool, bringing home at least $2,692. The top 12 players will all earn at least six-figure prizes and the big winner will grab the unbelievable $1,319,587.
According to the schedule, the tournament has to finish on Monday night, but due to the huge turnout, it might have to end on Tuesday.
