And 18-year-old Beau Greaves who is one of the biggest talents of the sport
Three women’s players will take part in the 2023 PDC Darts World Championship including a huge talent, Beau Greaves. Along with the more well-known players, Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton. All of them will start in the first round of the tournament with Greaves playing first this Friday night. Let’s see all three women’s players at the 2023 PDC World Championship and their chances of getting through.
The 2023 PDC World Championship will start this week, on the 15th of December with the first round and it will reach its climax with the final on the 3rd of January, 2023. 64 players begin the tournament in the first round including three women’s players. Beau Greaves, Fallon Sherrock, and Lisa Ashton.
18-year-old Greaves makes her first appearance in the event but the other two players have already competed here a couple of times. Sherrock even managed to reach the third round in 2020, while Ashton couldn’t advance to the second round so far. Now all of them will have a chance of doing so. Let’s see their first-round opponents and the odds for the matches.
Women’s Players at the 2023 PDC World Championship Includes Teenager Greaves
Beau Greaves is the current World Darts Federation women’s world champion and the winner of the WDF Europe Cup. Greaves also won three more major WDF events after defeating such players as Mikuru Suzuki and Rhian O’Sullivan.

In spite of being only 18 years old, she is an experienced player in the women’s circuit. She has been competing in tournaments since the age of ten. And she won her first adult title in 2019, at the age of 15. Now the teenage sensation will make her debut in the PDC World Championship this year.
Of course, it will be a totally different experience, which she earned by finishing second in the Women’s Series. Greaves will play against William O’Connor in the first round on Friday night. Online sportsbooks in the UK favor his 36-year-old Irish opponent to win the match. And offer an odds of 1.444 for his victory. While Beau ’n’ Arrow’s odds to go through are 2.75.
O’Connor got to the last four in the 2022 UK Open this March and to the final in the Hungarian Darts Trophy. So he won’t be an easy opponent, but the other women’s players at the 2023 PDC World Championship face an even tougher challenge.
Can Sherrock Go Even Further than 2020?
Fallon Sherrock became the first women’s player to reach the third round in the World Championship. After she knocked out Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic in the 2020 event. She didn’t qualify the following year and lost her first-round match last season against Steve Beaton.
Now the “Queen of the Palace” can try again even though she only qualified for the tournament last minute. Thanks to her victory at the inaugural Women’s World Matchplay in July.
Sherrock hasn’t had the best season this year. But she can come up with such a top performance that can be enough to win against his first opponent, Ricky Evans. Especially as the 32-year-old English player hasn’t gotten too many great results this season either.
His best achievement has been a quarter-final at the Austrian Darts Trophy and reaching the 6th round in the UK Open. Bookmakers still favor him to win the match next Tuesday and offer an odds of 1.266 for that. Sherrock’s odds to reach the second round and meet Joe Cullen are 3.70.
Lisa Ashton will Try to Advance This Time
Probably Lisa Ashton has the most difficult rival in Ryan Meikle who will arrive confidently after a good season. The 26-year-old player got to the 4th round in the UK Open and to the last 32 in the 2022 European Championship.
The Barber also reached the quarter-finals at the Hungarian Darts Trophy but lost there against Nathan Aspinall. Meikle got to the second round here last season. And online gambling sites in the UK favor him to do so again. His odds to win the match against Ashton are 1.222.
But we shouldn’t underestimate the winner of the PDC Women’s Series who will play in her fourth PDC World Championship. She lost all of her previous first-round matches, and her odds of 3.90 are not too promising either.
But the “Lancashire Rose” is a four-time women’s world champion who got to the third round in the 2021 UK Open. While she also reached the semi-final of the 2022 Women’s World Matchplay. If she can overcome her mental block on Saturday, she might proceed to the next round for the first time in her career.
