A couple of interesting quarter-final clashes will be played today on the grass courts of Wimbledon.

This year’s Wimbledon has already come to the quarter-final phase will all men’s quarters and the remainder of the women’s held today. All of the biggest names in tennis have made their way to All England Club for the Grand Slam, and some of them have already packed their bags and went home, leaving a number of punters under British gambling laws happy with their betting selections.

Nick Kyrgios ousted the recent French Open champion Rafael Nadal, providing some of the nicest payouts at online sportsbooks in the United Kingdom for a variety of betting offers. In another round 4 match, 7-times champion Roger Federer took down Tommy Robredo, to set up an all-Swiss quarter against Stanislas Wawrinka who beat Feliciano Lopez.

Novak Djokovic, now the favorite to win the tourney, beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and will now be facing Marin Cilic who sent Jeremy Chardy packing. The defending champion, Andy Murray had an easy win over Kevin Anderson and now goes against Grigor Dimitrov who beat Leonardo Mayer. All in all it will be a great tennis betting day at Wimbledon with plenty of opportunities for those who bet on sports in the United Kingdom.

Djokovic v Cilic match and betting

Today’s program at Wimbledon has a couple of great clashes in store

• All matches are fully covered by online sportsbooks in the United Kingdom

• Federer and Wawrinka play in an all-Swiss quarter-final

• Djokovic v Cilic quarter will have an Ivanisevic v Becker rivalry behind it

The men’s quarters today will coincide with the remainder of the women’s where one semi-final pair has already been decided.

Djokovic is on excellent form, but Cilic may cause more trouble for the Serbian pro than Jo-Wilfried Tsonga did in the fourth round. But still, Bovada is largely favoring Novak to win today with 1.08 odds against a long line of 8.00 for the Croat.

It will also be interesting to see Goran Ivanisevic’s influence on Cilic against that of Boris Becker on Djokovic. Back in the day Becker and Ivanisevic left professional tennis with Boris having a 10-9 lead over Goran. And now Djokovic is leading Cilic 9-0 in career meetings, so today’s quarter will be exciting on many levels.

Novak will definitely not be able to cruise past Cilic, as the Croat is expected to be ultra-aggressive with huge serves and hitting the corners for most of the match. However, Djokovic is much better at hitting winners than Berdych.

Cilic failed to overpower Djokovic at Indian Wells this spring, and only managed to take a single set against Novak at the French Open last month. But Cilic is much stronger on grass, while it is widely considered to be Novak’s weakest surface. All this makes betting on Cilic winning a set or even two a pretty smart bet for punters. He’s given 2.45 odds for winning over 2.5 games in set 1, as well as 4.00 odds on winning the first set.

Federer v Wawrinka match and betting

In another great quarter-final today 7-time champion Roger Federer will be taking on his compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka. Roger didn’t have any difficulty beating Tommy Robredo in straight sets yesterday, so he will be extremely ready to face Stan.

But also worth mentioning that Federer has only won 5 out of 13 last meetings with top 5 players. Even though grass is not the best surface for Wawrinka betting him to win at 3.40 odds is still much better value than backing Roger at shorter 1.33 odds.

Wawrinka also cruised through his fourth round match against Feliciano Lopez in straight sets, but lost more games than Roger. Additionally his confidence will be boosted by the fact that he beat Roger last time they met. On the other hand, Stan has had an up-and-down season, where amazing wins were mixed with poor games.

Recently we all saw Federer cruising past early stages of major tournaments only to lose in either last 16 or quarters. So it’s really anybody’s game today, making it very interesting to watch and certainly bet on.
