KNWU riders will wear the Unibet logo on their kit according to a new deal that makes Unibet Sportsbook the new Royal Dutch Cycling Union title sponsor. The deal will run from 2017 to 2020. Unibet will fund the KNWU with €7 million ($7.6 million) during that period, Dutch gambling news report.

Online gambling in the Netherlands is expected to be legalized in 2016 by Dutch gambling laws. This decision could also influence the deal that made Unibet Sportsbook the new Royal Dutch Cycling Union title sponsor in the future.

KNWU Chairman Marcel Wintels was delighted to comment the deal. He said, “The partnership between the KNWU and Unibet assures that Dutch cycling from the base, such as associations and national leagues, through to the top national selections and Dutch championships, will receive huge financial support for years to come.”

Unibet’s director of Western Europe, Anne-Jaap Snijders said, “Unibet is proud of this sponsorship agreement with the KNWU, which shows that we are fully committed to investment in grassroots through to top-level cycling when the road to operate under a licence in the Netherlands opens.”
