Greensill sound like a disease in plants, but it’s just a symptom of the disease destroying politics. With seeming complete electoral control, “Tory Sleeze” once again reappears as overconfidence overrides propriety. As usual, the lobbying by David Cameron is probably only the tip of the iceberg. Obviously, you can bet on the Labour Party to try and use this to win back working-class support. But will they succeed? Online sportsbook sites in the UK like Bet365 aren’t so sure.

If there’s one surefire bet on UK politics, it’s that Conservative governments will overstep themselves. With the press, mostly, on their side you can always bet on the Conservatives to feel themselves untouchable. If the working class were stupid enough to vote for them, they’re never going to notice a bit of corruption. And even if they do. most of them won’t be able to understand it anyway. Naturally, you can bet on the Labour Party to try and explain. Not that it will work.

Everyone already understands that the system of lobbying and lobbyists is legalized criminality. When the force of your persuasive argument is measured in fiscal terms it’s just bribery really. The UK is not alone in suffering from this malady. Politics ought to represent the people, mostly it represents big money, and very few of the people have big money. Anyone in the UK gambling laws aren’t influenced by those they’re supposed to control these days, is kidding themselves.

Odds On UK Politics Show Conservatives Still Lead

That’s why Conservative ministers can claim there are “quite robust” and “pretty good” laws concerning lobbying. David Cameron didn’t break the rules by taking money for his Greensill lobbying. Oh no. He simply took a job at Greensill, then just happened to do some lobbying for them. It’s so transparent it’s almost insulting. You can bet on the Labour Party and Keir Starmer to point this out. Repeatedly. Unfortunately, this probably won’t do them any good. Not yet.

Pointing out the Conservatives are feathering their own nests isn’t enough. People expect that. Tory sleeze is not a new phenomena. However, whilst the exigencies of the current circumstance have eclipsed Brexit, soon the distraction will end. At that point you can bet on the Labour Party to point out the economic effects. People will perceive a greater injustice. Will think it more unfair. This will lead to online betting sites in the UK like Bet365 slashing their odds on Labour.

Bet On The Labour Party Winning At Bet365

Of course the odds on the Conservatives learning a lesson from all this and behaving themselves are huge. You’ve more chance of UEFA backing the European Super League without getting paid. Would you really ever bet on Boris Johnson to learn anything? So history will repeat itself. We’ll start seeing embarrassed ministers resigning soon. That’s almost traditional. So you can bet on Rishi Sunak getting nervous. Boris could just see it as a way to rid himself of a popular rival.

“It’s one rule for them, another for everybody else.”

  • Rachel Reeves – Shadow Cabinet Office Minister

So, the only reason to bet on the Labour Party to win an election of any importance, is the Conservatives. Labour’s policies and good intentions are as to nothing in comparison. People don’t believe those. Believing Conservatives are ripping them off? That’s an easy sell. Like telling people who like a bet on sports in the UK at Bet365 that a bet on the European Super League will amuse them. After all, it’s just more football. Same as Greensill is just more politics.

We look at why a bet on the Labour Party to win an election might depend on just how brazen the Conservative Party behave.
