Totolotek Launches Online Operations in Poland

The Polish arm of Greek gaming and lottery operator Intralot has launched their online sportsbook in Poland. Totolotek have announced the launch after they were granted a 6 year online gambling license by the Polish government, and will offer punters throughout the country online fixed-odd betting, as well as live betting and other features.

The company has also announced its plans to launch a mobile betting application in the near future, too, as it looks into making the most out of the Polish market. With every section of their business dedicated to Polish customers, they will be hoping for a major breakthrough in the near future.

So far, Polish gambling laws have been inefficient since changes were made in 2010. Originally, no provision was made for online gambling in any form, but since 2011 sportsbooks and other gambling sites have sprung up within the country, although there are still no online casinos.

With plans to go mobile, too, Totolotek are taking the longer term view, and their CEO, Adam Lamentovicz, said: “Our aim is to offer a product tailored to the end-user and thus further expand our customers’ base. The design and deployment of our new interactive product in Poland was based on considerable research into Polish players’ attitudes, behaviours and interests.”

Meanwhile, Intralot Managing Director for Europe/North Africa, Fotis Mavroudis, added: “This new step in Poland ratifies our commitment to continue our long and successful operation in the country, but it also underlines Intralot Group’s strategy toward offering to players worldwide a ‘Universal Gaming Experience’, meaning the convergence of the multiple User Interaction Channels – retail, internet and mobile.”

With mobile gambling spreading quickly throughout Europe, and mobile penetration levels extremely high across the continent, it is likely that we will see a number of new casinos, sportsbooks, and other gambling providers launch new products in the near future.
