Joe Biden Might Face Legal Challenges To His Victory

A lot of people bet on Donald Trump to pull off a miracle. After his 2016 victory, it was always possible. However, as the polls put him 7 points ahead a bet on Joe Biden to win the White House seems best. The turnout is massive, the swing states are swinging his way and the President’s support is ebbing away. However, whilst the odds on Joe Biden at online sportsbook sites in the US are great, this isn’t over. This election will go on well after the polls close next Tuesday.
“It’s not over till the bell rings.” Joe Biden sounded almost ominous about his rival’s electoral tactics. “I don’t underestimate how he plays.” He believes the President is “trying to sort of delegitimize the election”. It’s a belief you can bet on the Democrats as a whole to share. They are very wary of what shenanigans Donald Trump may try if he loses. They still bet on Joe Biden to win the White House. However, they do know it might be a hard fight even after next week.
“I think the contrast between Donald Trump and me,” Joe Biden muses, “is about as stark as it can get in terms of our value set and how we view the world.” He’s not wrong. Most people in the US will have bet on Joe Biden to win the White House by voting for him, apparently. That’s what the polls say. It is also what the massive volume of early voting indicates. But, like any bet on sports in the US right now, there’s always room for the unpredictable. This is, after all, 2020.
Could The Election End Up In The Supreme Court?
The worry that a bet on Joe Biden to win the White House could be swept away by a contested election. Contested elections go to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court Donald Trump has stuffed with hardline Republicans. They might not back his challenge, but can you bet on the Republicans to play fair now? Their unseemly rush to fill the seat of Ruth Bader Ginsburg hardly a sign of honorable conduct. They know the Supremes could decide the election regardless of the result.
2020 House Winner Odds
- Republicans – 9/2
- Democrats – 1/8
“I think [the election] will end up in the Supreme Court.” Said Donald Trump a week ago. That’s not a good sign. The Republicans have a 6-3 majority. However, whilst it worked against Al Gore in 2000, Joe’s win won’t be as fragile. An Electoral College win of 335 would give him a buffer. It would be hard for the court to rule against so many states. So, that bet on Joe Biden to win the White House at online betting sites in the US like Bovada is still the better wager really.
2020 Senate Winner Odds
- Republicans – 2/1
- Democrats – 4/7

If, of course, you believe the polls. That the polls were so wayward in 2016 might give you some cause for pause. However, the odds on the Democrats in several key swing states seems to show this going Joe’s way. The pollsters might be wrong, but the bookies won’t be fooled again. That’s why the odds on Donald Trump, and indeed the odds on the Republicans aren’t longer. They’re hedging their bets against all sorts of possibilities. This is, after all, the unpredictable 2020.
US Presidential Election Odds
- Donald Trump – 7/4
- Joe Biden – 10/21
“I feel superstitious when I predict anything other than it’s going to be a hard fight.” Admitted Joe Biden, but also allowed; “We feel good about where we are.” He is, like many in the US gambling laws will be adhered to, democracy will be maintained, and the election will be fair. Any other year those would be givens. In 2020 with Donald Trump as President those aren’t quite as guaranteed. So a bet on Joe Biden to win the White House has to take that into account. Plus all it says about modern-day America.
