The golf star’s poker event will take place next month, on May 16, at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tiger Woods has announced his third annual charity poker tournament will have Phil Hellmuth as a special guest. The poker legend, winner of 13 World Series of Poker bracelets, will emcee “Tiger’s Poker Night” presented by the World Poker Tour.
The exclusive competition will be held in a famous American poker room in Las Vegas and proceeds will benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation, which helps fund several college-access programs.
Playing for charity
Tiger and Phil will be joined by other celebrities and poker stars and the evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. According to recent gambling news, the top eight players will be rewarded with non-cash prizes and the champion will get a chance to play 18 holes of golf with Tiger Woods himself. WPT will be filming the $10,000 buy-in poker event for future broadcast.
The Tiger Woods Foundation was funded in 1996 by the golf star and his father, Earl Woods. Millions of kids benefit from the educational programs and scholarships offered by the foundation. The Earl Woods Program includes a $5,000 scholarship, a dedicated mentor and specialized internships.
