The UK gambling commission starts a dialog with consumer representatives

Improving the communication with the consumers is what the new initiative by the UK Gambling Commission is focused on.
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) is lately showing a great care towards the gambling consumer. After the efforts made in solving the issue with the FOBTs, these days they also stressed the beginning of a new project whose aim is to start a dialog with consumers or their representatives in order to shape best the national policies on gambling.
As online gambling sites in UK stress, Sarah Harrison, chief executive of the UKGC, announced yesterday that the initiative they make will stress three aspects: increasing transparency and clarity, being more responsive and working in partnerships.She also claimed that the UKGC is aware of the fact that they “also have to do more to tap into consumer concerns, understand consumer interests and communicate better with consumers who enjoy gambling, as well as those for whom it may become a real problem.“
GamCare approves of the move
Dirk Hansen, chief executive at GamCare, approved of the decision of the UKGC stating that in this way the Commission is fully appreciating the way gambling can affect consumers. As gambling news report, Hansen emphasized that GamCare welcomes this level of interest both in obtaining information on consumer behaviour, and in reaching out directly to consumers to obtain their perspective.”
