Teams to Finish Bottom at Christmas in Premier League 2018/19

All three teams Southampton, Fulham, and Huddersfield in relegation zone are facing the curse to finish bottom at Christmas in Premier League. Bookies suggest Southampton are the favorites to slip down to the bottom of the table on December 25th.
The curse of Christmas refers to a trend where teams who finish bottom at Christmas have been relegated at the end of the season. According to online sportsbook news in the United Kingdom, since the Premier League began, it happened every season except three. Since 2007, 50% of teams who have been bottom at Christmas in Premier League have finished last at the end of the campaign. All three teams currently in relegation zone including Southampton, Fulham, and Huddersfiled are very close to the curse of Christmas.

Southampton Face Worst Run in 20 Years
Southampton did not win in the Premier League since September 1st. They are now three points from safety in 19th place, with only Fulham below them on goal difference. This season Southampton are suffering their worst run in 20 years with 14 winless matches. They sit on top of the odds to finish bottom at Christmas, according to Betvictor Sportsbook.
Southampton are hosting Arsenal before they visit Huddersfield on December 22. They will play under the management of the new head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl the former Laipzig boss. He is well known to be sharp but the players have a fragile confidence. After Christmas, Southampton will face both Manchester City and Chelsea. It is hard to see them get out of the relegation zone anytime soon.
Fulham at the Bottom of the Table
Fulham are currently at the bottom with nine points, despite spending over £100m on players in last summer. They have conceded 40 goals in 16 league games. They won only twice, drew three times and lost 11. Only one top-flight team has a worse record at this stage of the season since the 1965/66 season.
Fulham’s struggle has already resulted in sacking Slavisa Jokanovic. They replaced Jokanovic with Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri who won the League with Leicester back in 2016 was able to collect four points from three games so far. He will play against West Ham and Newcastle before Christmas. If he fails to win, Fulham will be at the bottom.
Do Not Bet on Huddersfield to Be in the Bottom at Christmas
The Guardian predicted in last summer Huddersfield will finish 19th this season. Huddersfield showed to be resolute until now, as they lie 18th on 10 points. They have conceded 27 goals in 16 matches. They lost their last game at the Emirates with only 1-0 to Arsenal. Their record is better than both Southampton and Fulham. We do not recommend betting on Huddersfield to finish bottom at Christmas in Premier League.
