Sport betting fans in California will have more places where they can bet on horseracing, as Sportstech is opening 10 new betting shops
Ten new sports betting venues – including a high-end sports bar – are opening in California
Business is booming for pool and sports betting operator Sportech, as the company decided to expand and open shop in California. After signing an agreement with Southern California Off Track Wagering, Sportech is now licensed under American gambling laws to operate in up to 10 retail venues in California.
But there’s even better news for passionate gamblers: by next summer, Sportech will be offering their clients the ability to bet on horseracing in a high-end sports bar and restaurant. The 10,000sq ft venue will be developed in partnership with Silky Sullivan Group and profits will be shared equally.
Sportech and Southern California Off Track Wagering have already agreed on five locations for the new betting shops. The first one will be opening in Norco, Riverside Country, Southern California.
“We are pleased to be working with Sportech to create these new first class facilities in order to showcase the great sport of horse racing and to attract new customers,” said Jack Liebau, chairman of Southern California Off Track Wagering.
While the East coast is embracing online gambling in the US states of Delaware and New Jersey, the West coast market hasn’t been “contaminated” with internet betting yet. With California having only 36 locations where punter can bet on horseracing, Sportech will surely be making profits in no time.
