Marvel Studios will no longer be producing films featuring Spider-Man. Sony and Disney did not agree on the future of the famous superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, in the next few years, Marve still has to present two of Spider-Man’s premieres. Should fans wait for the tragic fate of the superhero as the end of his existence in the universe? On the 20th of August, Marvel President Kevin Feige announced that he would no longer be producing films featuring Spider-Man superhero. The reason for this was the monetary dispute, which lasted for several months. Disney proposed that Sony equally divides both the financing of future blockbusters and the profit from them. In turn, Sony insisted on maintaining the old arrangements, according to which Disney has only five percent of the profit.
Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man and leases it to Marvel for their movie universe. Besides, under the agreement, Disney received money mainly from merchandise sales, and the rest went to Sony. “Spider-Man: Far from home” was the most successful project in the history of the studio. Sony representatives told that the dispute with Disney, in their opinion, only concerned Kevin Feige as a producer.
Most hero fans are sad about leaving the character and are angry at Sony. Moreover, they are afraid that their favorite character is going to die in the next movies.
