Genoa and Fiorentina will test each other on Saturday evening, while AS Roma will defend its colors against Empoli later that night.
And then on Sunday we will have a chance to witness some superb action between Chievo and Napoli as the latter side will be looking to build on their current position the Serie A. Atalanta will clash with Cagliari at home in a game that should see the hosts seal a victory.
Genoa vs Fiorentina and AS Roma vs Empoli
Genoa find themselves in 7th place with 28 points from 20 encounters so far. At the start of the season they have managed to perform quite impressively at times, however they have also slipped on certain occasions which many believes that they should have been able to win them.
Their home record if rather uncertain (3 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses) and will not provide them with a boost as they prepare to go up against Fiorentina on their own turf.
• AS Roma looking to overcome Empoli with ease
• Napoli favorite against Chievo away
• Genoa and Fiorentina will play on Saturday evening
The visiting side lies one place above Genoa in 5th spot with 31 overall points. This game might actually prove to be quite challenging for Genoa as Fiorentina have a solid away record in which they have notched 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. For this reason Bet365 has decided to put more faith in the visiting team 2.15 (8/7), while Genoa have been given underdog odds 3.40 (12/5). A draw between the two has also been set at 3.40 (12/5), which doesn’t seem that likely.
AS Roma appear to be the only team that can stop Juventus at this point. The club from the capital has accumulated a total of 42 points from 20 games and they boast a marvelous home record which has seen them win 7 games while the rest of the matches finished in 3 draws and not a single loss on their ground Stadio Olimpico.
Empoli have been pitted against Roma, however looking at their recent results they don’t have much chances 8.50 (15/2). They lie all the way down in 16th place with 19 points and maintain an away score of 1 win, 5 draws and 3 losses. Online sportsbooks in Italy don’t have high hopes for them regarding this clash as they have given AS Roma obvious favorite status 1.44 (4/9).
Chievo vs Napoli and Atalanta vs Cagliari
Chievo will face a hard test against Napoli at home on Sunday afternoon. The hosts are struggling in the relegation zone and they have only manages to get 18 points of their encounters so far. Their last five games have ended in 2 losses, 2 draws and only 1 win, which is part of the reason why Bet365 has very limited chances 5.25 (17/4).
Napoli are in 3rd position on the table with an overall 36 points. Throughout the last five games they’ve put on some impressive performances which have resulted in 4 wins and only 1 loss. Their home record also is decent (5 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses), although it could have been better up until now. Bet365 has earmarked them as firm favorites 1.73 (8/11) against Chievo.
Atalanta and Cagliari will lock horns on Sunday in match that will bear a great deal of uncertainty. Both teams have performed below average this season which has seen them record almost only 40 points between them. Cagliari are in 17th place with 19 points while Atalanta hold a slightly better position (15th spot) with only 20 points.
The home side (Atalanta) has tied 3 times, won once and lost once as well over the course of the last 5 games, whereas the visiting side has recorded 2 losses, 2 wins and 1 draw in that same period. Italian mobile betting sites have the visiting team worse odds 3.50 (5/2), while Atalanta have been given preferential chances 2.20 (6/5), per Bet365.
