Arjen Robben is the favourite for German Top Scorer award even though he is second placed at the moment.
The 2014-15 Bundesliga season will be over in 10 match days which will see Bayern Munchen’s Arjen Robben fight until the end with Frankfurt’s Alexander Meier. Online sportsbooks in Germany regard Arjen Robben as the main candidate for the title even though Frankfurt’s striker has scored more goals so far than his Dutch rival.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid player has 10 more games to turn over his 1 goal disadvantage, and online betting sites believe this is what is going to happen. Bet365 has set the odds for Robben ending up Bundesliga Top Scorer at 1.67 (4/6) while the second favorite is Meier, whose odds are 3.25 (9/4), per Bet365.
The Dutchman maintains advantage due to being part of a better side
Alexander Meier has scored 18 goals in 24 matches for Frankfurt, and his team is in the 9th position in this year’s championship. German gambling news believe that it is harder for him to score than it is for Robben, as he does not play for the team that is the most probable candidate for winning the league.
Robben, on the other hand, plays for the much better club. Bayern Munchen has won 19 of their 24 games and lost only one, scoring 66 goals and conceding only 11. In addition, they are leading the tournament by 11 points against second-placed Wolfsburg. Pep Guardiola’s men will play in Bremen against Werder, while Frankfurt will host 16th placed Paderborn in the 25th match day.
