Second Win in a Row at 7th Annual World Luxury Awards for Canadian Casino Hotel River Rock Casino Resort

Canadian casino and hotel, River Rock Casino Resort, has won the prestigious Best Luxury Casino Hotel Award in the Global category at the 7th Annual World Luxury Awards, hosted in Phuket, Thailand. River Rock is home to one of the most well known Canadian poker rooms, as well as their renowned casino and award winning hotel.

The resort has been pushing its image as a high end gambling resort in recent times, as online casinos in Canada have taken the attention of the less well off gamblers after a quick fix rather than the whole casino resort experience. The move seems to have paid off, too, with the win being the second time the resort has picked up the prize in a row.

Roland Monteiro, General Manager, Hospitality at River Rock Casino Resort commented on the win: “This is the second year in a row that River Rock Casino Resort has been recognized at an event of this magnitude. Last year, we were honored to have won the Award for Luxury Casino Hotel in Canada, but this year, we are privileged to have ranked so high in the Global category. This award would not be possible without the exceptional service that our colleagues provide to our guests on daily basis.”

With Canadian gambling laws causing consternation with online casino companies across the region, many of the country’s land-based casinos have been focusing their attention on the high roller market, and trying to tempt punters away from the US with promotions outside of the casino floor, too.

Becoming a luxury hotel is one of the aims of many of the casinos, and River Rock Casino Resort is one of the highest rated in the area, having been designated as an AAA Four Diamond resort since 2007. This latest award win came after nominations from guests and tour operators.
