Let’s take a look at a few of the best American boxers in 2017, and discuss the betting odds set by Intertops for their upcoming fights.

The US boxing scene is extremely strong at the moment. This nation holds champions in a variety of different weight classes, some of which are the biggest stars in the sport. Now, let’s take a look at a few of the very best American boxers competing today, and check out what’s next in their careers.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. #1

There’s no denying the greatness of Floyd Mayweather. The 40 year old Michigan native has won world titles in five different weight division, and holds a perfect 49-0 record against many of the best fighters to grace the ring. Floyd will once again step into the ring, likely in his very last fight, against the biggest star in MMA and boxing newcomer Conor McGregor.

Floyd Mayweather’s past five opponents

  • Andre Berto: Win via UD
  • Manny Pacquiao: Win via UD
  • Marcos Maidana: Win via UD
  • Marcos Maidana: Win via MD
  • Canelo Alvarez: Win via MD

At first glance, this seems to be one of the biggest mismatches in the history of boxing. Never before has an established world-class champion taken on a debuting fighter, but money talks and the fight will officially go down on August 26th.

Unsurprisingly, Mayweather is entering this fight as the massive boxing betting favorite. Though he’s the much older man here, the experience and defensive mastery of Floyd gives him the massive advantage. Mayweather’s odds to beat McGregor are set at 1.13. Conor is a power puncher, and has the opportunity to make US gambling news with the massive upset, but he’s entering this contest with odds of just 5.50 to beat Floyd.

Deontay Wilder #2

Current WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has one of the most impressive records in boxing right now at 38-0, though he’s often been criticized for not taking on the toughest competition available. Nevertheless, he’s one of the best American boxers in 2017.

Since winning the title in 2015, Wilder has fought 5 times. Each of those contests have ended via stoppage, most recently a brutal TKO over Gerald Washington. Deontay’s next bout has not yet been confirmed, although many boxing betting experts are calling for a bout with Tony Bellew.

That fight may very well be in the works, and members of Intertops can already bet on Wilder vs. Bellew with some great odds available. Wilder would be the much bigger man here, and is also more experienced, as a result he’s the favorite with odds of 1.25. Bellew’s odds to beat Wilder are set at 3.75.

Adrien Broner #3

Adrien Broner has reaffirmed his status as one of the best American boxers in 2017 by defeating Adrian Granados back in January. He’s won three straight fights since his loss to Shawn Porter, and is poised to earn a big money fight with a win over Mikey Garcia at the end of July.

Broner has long been seen as a Mayweather-like fighter with a more offensive mindset. Of his 33 wins, 24 have come via stoppage. His upcoming opponent Mikey Garcia is perhaps his toughest tests to date with a perfect 36-0 record.

Both men have head first, aggressive styles, and most online sportsbooks in the US are having a tough time predicting the winner. Despite his big-fight experience, Broner is actually entering this contest as the significant betting underdog with odds of 4.50. Mikey Garcia is one of the top prospects in the sport right now, and has odds of 1.20 to beat Adrien Broner.
