DeepStacks and World Poker Tour partner up to offer a better experience for casual poker players.
The mid-major poker industry has grown over the past few years. At present, more than 100 international tournaments bring thousands of casual players to American poker rooms, but these smaller events don’t always achieve the expected results.
This is why the DeepStacks Poker Tour chose to join forces with WPT, in order to create a better and more successful enterprise. WPTDeepStacks aims to be a dynamic entity that combines the advantages of the WPT brand and the operational capabilities of DeepStacks.
A better player experience
According to the latest gambling news, the new event will replace both the WPT Regional and DeepStacks Poker Tournaments. The new event will have a bigger guaranteed prize pool and will offer a Player of the Year award.
WPT President Adam Pliska told reporters: “The WPT aims to take players on a journey from beginning to end. Where we’ve been weak was this mid-major market, and now we’ve come along and completed the journey. Now someone can engage [with the World Poker Tour] at any level and any price point.”
“This project puts that whole mid-major industry on a whole different level,” DSPT President Chris Torina added. “I think that this really offers the low to medium buy-in player a really exclusive opportunity that they would only get if they had entered a $5,000 or $10,000 event.”
