Philippine TV Celebrity Willie Revillame Confirms Gambling Rumors

Philippine TV host Willie Revillame finally confessed to his gambling issue and broke his silence on the rumors behind the fact he wasted millions of dollars through gambling.

The former Kapamilya TV host is in the spotlight in the latest Philippine gambling news after Ricky Lo, who has a column in The Philippine Star, stated that Willie Revillame did not deny his casino activities.

Gambling is a big past time in the Manila and the rest of the country, since Philippine gambling laws permit casinos and gambling halls to be set up around the country. However, it looks like Willie has been having a bit too much fun in them lately.

“You know, I’ve been working so hard so I deserve to enjoy myself,” Revillame said, “I’m betting my own money. If I win, I can help more people; if I lose, I still continue to help people.”

Despite claiming everything is fine and dandy, Revillame has sold or is selling a few of his properties to support his gambling habit, including his Wil Events Place and the Wil Tower in Quezon City.

His daughter, actress Meryll Soriano, has come out to defend her father.

“Whatever he does with his life, it’s his prerogative,” she said, “He has worked hard for everything, for his wealth. So whatever he wants to do with that, we don’t have any right to judge or to say something bad about it because it’s his money.”
