His move to Arsenal FC comes as a result of lack of playtime during the 2014/2015 Barclays Premier League season.
In a move that seemed impossible, Arsenal FC have successfully managed to get the signature of former Chelsea shot stopper Peter Cech. The Barclays Premier League winner has penned a 4 year contract considered to be worth GBP 100 thousand pounds per-week. His arrival at the club also puts Arsenal FC in pole position to fight for the league title next season.
• The transfer to Arsenal is worth GBP 10m
• Cech has served Chelsea for 11 years
• Gunners aim to challenge for the title
In efforts to replace Cech’s position, Chelsea FC is lining up a bid around GBP 6m to acquire the services of Bosnian international and Stoke City goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic.
However, reports from mobile betting sites suggests that the current Premier League champions are set to make another bid within the region of GBP 8M. Furthermore, Stoke City suggest that in order for Chelsea to get the services of Begovic, the Blues also have to loan out one of their younger players to them. Some names that have been talked about are Patrick Bamford and Reuben Loftus-Cheek.
Chelsea legend thanks club supporters and fans
Since Cech’s arrival to Stamford Bridge from French Club Stade Rennais, he has won all major trophies with Chelsea over the past decade. Despite all the laurels with The Blues, he would be remembered for most of his heroic saves at the goalpost and his amazing clean sheet record at Stamford Bridge. Before his move to North London, he expressed his gratitude in an emotional letter to all the Chelsea supporters and personnel at the club.
“I thought this would never happen but it is time to say goodbye to Chelsea,” wrote Cech. According to news from luxury casinos, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich allowed the Czech international to join Arsenal. He also said that the Chelsea owner deserves huge credit for what he has done for the club and for all the fans.
Furthermore, Cech added in his letter that “the limited playing time gave me the chance to refresh and rest mentally as well as make me realize just how much I love playing football at the highest level, because I missed it badly and every game day I was not involved. He also said that the Chelsea owner deserves huge credit for what he has done for the club.”
Mourinho not surprised with Cech Decision
News reports by Gibraltar betting companies have mentioned that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho supports and respects Cech’s move to join rival club Arsenal. On the Chelsea FC website, the Portuguese boss stated, “I support the owner’s decision to honour the player in this way. Peter has been a great servant for Chelsea for 11 years and helped this club to win almost everything there is to win”.
Cech’s arrival to Arsenal has also seen him receive threats from fans to both him and his family, however the former Chelsea shot stopper has dismissed such threat saying that the people who sent in such messages are not real fans. According to online sportsbooks in the UK, the new Arsenal star mentioned that “the true fans have sent me messages that are pleasing and positive. True fans would appreciate what I have done and the legacy I have left commented Cech.”
Shape of things without Cech at Stamford Bridge
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Peter Cech won 4 Barclays Premier League medals in 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2015. Cech also won 4 FA cup medals in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012, while recently he won the Capital One Cup in March 2015. Furthermore, the new Arsenal no 1 also won 2 major laurels in Europe which are the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and the UEFA Europa League in 2013.
It is difficult to predict how things will shape out without Peter Cech for Chelsea FC, however the club can be rest assured that they are in safe hands with the performance of their young goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. He has performed outstandingly throughout the season, since arriving from his 3-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid. Gambling news report the 22-year-old will be hoping to emulate and beat previous records set by the former Czech international and Chelsea legend.
