The 48th People’s Choice Awards ceremony is just around the corner. In a few days, the winners of people’s hearts in the music, movie, and television industries will be announced in Santa Monica. The nominees of this year were revealed on October 26, meaning that fans had more than one month to vote for their favorites in 40 categories. With the voting closed, and the ceremony scheduled for this Tuesday, take a look at the latest People’s Choice Awards winner odds in three main nominations. Online betting sites in the US provide us with predictions about the favorites in Best Movie, Best Actor, and Best Actress categories.

Films to win the Best Movie award at People’s Choice 2022

Best Film praises the most beloved pictures of the year. Unlike Oscars or Golden Globes, People’s Choice nominates films with the best audience reviews and popular box office hits. In 2022, eight films received nominations in this category.

  • Top Gun: Maverick
  • Doctor Strange 2
  • The Batman
  • Elvis
  • Nope
  • Thor: Love and Thunder
  • Jurassic World Dominion
  • Bullet Train

Who will take the award home? Following all the People’s Choice Awards winner odds, Top Gun: Maverick will win the prize. The odds to win are 1.40 with no one coming even close to Tom Cruise’s last premiere. The sequel to the 1986 Top Gun became the highest-grossing film of the year with $1.4 billion box office. What is more, Maverick will be re-released in cinemas in December, so it can easily surpass such box office hits as Furious 7 and The Avengers

Success in the box office isn’t Cruise and co’s main achievement. Top Gun 2 became one of the most praised releases in 2022. Following Rotten Tomatoes, the film received 96% positive reviews from critics and 99% fresh reviews from the audience. Combined with promising Maverick Oscar predictions, the movie can easily win its first award this week.

People’s Choice Awards winner odds on acting nominations

2022 was pretty rich on decent acting performances in all movie genres. We had Brad Pitt in Bullet Train, Viola Davis in The Woman King, Keke Palmer in Nope, Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project, and many others. However, there is only one winner in a male and female acting nomination. Let’s see who has the highest chance of winning!

Top Gun: Maverick pops up again, with its main star Tom Cruise leading in the Best Actor nomination. The bookies give him 1.57 odds to win. Undoubtedly, Cruise delivered one of the most convincing performances in mainstream movies in ages, while his physical shape is still amazing. No wonder that he leads the People’s Choice Awards winner odds. Interestingly, his co-star Miles Teller has the second-best chance to win in the same category, according to Bovada Sportsbook.

What about the Best Actress nominations? There is no tough competition because Elizabeth Olsen is everyone’s favorite to win. Olsen was back to her role of Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) in Doctor Strange 2 and her performance was often called the best in the sequel. Therefore, she has the best odds (1.83) to take home the best actress award on December 6, 2022.
