Ádám Nagy, one of the top Euro 2016 talents, has been linked to many European football clubs, now his case is officially over.
Online betting news have kept reporting for weeks that the most likely candidate to sign one of the best Euro 2016 talents Ádám Nagy is Serie A member Bologna FC. However, at some point Benfica seemed to be ready to buy one of the best Hungarian footballers in 2016, but the Portuguese club quited the race for Nagy’s signature.
Bologna FC officially announced the club’s new player
Ádám Nagy has been playing for Hungarian OTP Liga champion Ferencvárosi TC last season and has been a key member in Fradi’s championship title. The green-white club of Hungary are trying to reach Champions League group stage qualification but they will have to continue fighting for that without one of the best Hungarian football talents from now on.
The transfer of one of the best Euro 2016 talents has been reported by the official websites of Ferencvárosi TC and Bologna FC at the same time in the afternoon of 14 July. Fradi received €1,5 million for the signature of the talented Hungarian midfielder, whose price can reach €1,8 million in case certain clauses are fulfilled. Previously, online betting news in Italy expected the player to be purchased for around €5 million.
Nagy hopes to become key member of the Serie A team
One of the most important aspects when choosing his new club was the expectation of being an important first team player for Ádám Nagy. The 21 years old midfielder expects to play as a starter most of the season and Bologna’s new manager, Roberto Donadoni apparently believes in the abilities of one of the best Euro 2016 players.
Donadoni is believed to be wanting to prepare his team for his favourite formation which is a basic line-up of 4-3-3. In this formation, Nagy’s role would be similar to that of Andrea Pirlo in Juventus, so he would be a deep lying playmaker, controlling the game from in front of the defensive line.
However, he will definitely have competition to be in the starting line-up: Bologna just signed 2 more midfielders. The new Bologna midfielders are Godfred Donsah and Luca Rizzo, who were signed for transfer fees of €5 million and €6 million respectively. Not even Italian online sportsbooks can predict who will be the favourites of Roberto Donadoni.
Nagy was one of the best talents at Euro 2016
Nagy was key member in Hungary’s series of terrific performances at Euro 2016: He was one of the most important players in the Hungarian midfield. Thanks to this, many European clubs started scouting the Hungarian football talent. However, Bologna ended up as the “winner” for his signature. The Italian side has been in talks with Fradi since May, the young Hungarian midfielder’s great performance at the continental tournament only strengthened their interest in one of the best Euro 2016 talents.
