As Wikipedia puts it: “The 2022 Winter Olympics, officially the XXIV Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Beijing 2022 are an upcoming international winter multi-sport event scheduled to take place from 4 to 20 February 2022 in Beijing and towns in the neighboring Hebei province in the People’s Republic of China.” They chose Beijing in 2015 to be the host city. And with this, it is going to be the very first winter Olympics in China.

So far, it could seem like it is going to be a great event. But it is not like that at all: there are more and more countries that are about to boycott the event. What is going on in there, and what are the Beijing Olympics special odds and predictions about?

Several Concerns

More and more countries in the world express their concerns about the Beijing Olympics. But why? Well, it is mostly because of human rights abuses in the country, but some also have environmental concerns as well. World Athletics President Sebastian Coe spoke up on the topic, and he believes that a diplomatic boycott would only be a meaningless gesture. “No Organising Committee or National Olympic Federation, if I’m being a little blunt here, is going to miss a Minister. But what does this mean and where does this leave our diplomatic mission? They are still on the frontline of diplomacy with China. Frankly, I think that is a hollow gesture” – said Coe. And what does that mean for gamblers? Well, it means some special odds and predictions on the upcoming winter Olympics!

Of course, the winter Olympics will not start until the 4th of February. So, it is still a little way down the road.
